I have been covering offline and online lottery playing and compared the odds before I buy tickets. Now I will never go again! Just like walking through my neighborhood streets I have taken notice of some of the stores that I pass every day. Some stores I pass on my walks are just mind boggling!
A woman I passed yesterday said to me “you need to wait for your ticket to be called out by Pengeluaran Sgp 2022 Hari Ini.” Oh thank you! Because I totally forgot to buy my ticket. I stopped, turned around and continuously repeated the digits on my tickets until the runner whistled and gently eased my groceries into my arms.
The good news is that my 3 digit combination was soon followed by another 9 digit combination: 12 – 72 – 98 – 145 – where else? Just like that, my 3 digit ticket soon made me a winner as well! I however had 2 more numbers – a 5 digit and a 6 digit combination which Warrick Marvin would certainly be aware of.
I returned home and checked my e-mail in haste. It seems my lottery had paid out another $250,000. With $250,000 I could have sold all of my lottery tickets within the next 30 days…or I could have stayed at home and made even larger profits. The sad reality is that unless you live in Las Vegas or on the Indian reservations, lottery profits are highly leveraged and expansion would have to be made primarily through volume, which in these economic conditions is frankly considered to be a non-occurance.
Part of the reason for the above misconception is that some lotteries create the impression that larger prizes are readily available. The vast majority of lotteries that are offered have huge jackpots that would make for incredibly lucrative prizes should one happen to win the jackpot. Unfortunately those millions of dollars that go unclaimed are often treated as nothing more than overhead. The winners are, quite frankly, no more than a luxury until their numbers are finally called out.
What these vast sums of money fail to account for is the cost of playing the lotto in the first place. How much money was spent buying tickets? How much money was spent buying the lottery numbers? It makes a big difference when you are playing the lotto with a balanced budget. Let’s take an example of purchasing $1,000 dollars in tickets. Let’s say that the odds of winning the $1,000 are 1-in-142,agen. If you buy only one ticket, you are only saving $90, or 5% of your money, right? Now let’s say that you decide to buy 50 tickets. That’s still only $90 that you didn’t spend buying the actual odds of the game increasing your odds of winning. That’s a 20% savings.
Lotto players, I’m sure, will tell you that they, of sometimes have no choice but to buy the tickets. That may be true, but if the numbers are going to be drawn anyway, why waste your money anyway. If the numbers aren’t going to be drawn, than why play?
Don’t worry, there are ways that you can still save money when you play the lottery. The first way, which we’ll look at today, is to simply do a little analysis.
To see where you have the best chance of winning, you can do an easy probability calculation. Simply use the following as your basis: lets say your chance of winning is 1 in 3, Earliest Win. You then divide 1 in 3 by 5, or 1 in 5. You have the possibility of winning in 3 then divide that by 2, or 1 in 2. You have a 2 to 1 possibility of winning.
Dividing by 2, as many lottery tickets, you have a 32% chance of winning. Dividing by 1, as many lottery tickets, you have a 18% chance of winning. If you were to purchase 50 tickets, you would only need a 2 in 50 chance of winning, making the odds a lot more reasonable.
Here are a couple of things to keep in mind before you try this. Of course, in the real world, there are an infinite number of outcomes, but in thelottery, outcomes are limited. So, we’ll concentrate here on the likely event of your winning.
Now, your satisfaction is obviously unimportant. However, it would be sensible to count all the numbers that you play, and then arrange them into groups of three. Here’s some research for you: the probability of a 3 number win is about 11%, so after you finish counting up, you might want to stop.
However you decide to do it, keep in mind that the less numbers you play, the better your odds.
